A) 2x4 get better mileage, cost less to maintain, and can usually tow slightly more than a 4x4. On the other hand, they don't have 4x4. My personal opinion, go for the 4 wheel drive, or buy a car. What is the best website for 4X4 trucks?Q) I'm looking for a new exhaust system, new wheels, and new tires. Could you tell me a good website for that?
A) Try Walker for the exhaust, American Racing for wheels and tireack.com for tires. Any good speed shop has "Cat - back" exhaust systems for trucks and high dollar brands such as BORLA.when will americans start making righthand drive diesel 4x4 trucks so i can have one in good ole blighty?A) Never. If the sun is up, then they are propably overcompensating for their small penises or trying to impose their fake masculinity on whoever will react.Who offers the best four link suspension system for 4x4 trucks?Q) I have a custom F350 lifted truck which is a fire truck. The current leaf spring suspension is too stiff and does not offer a lot of suspension travel. I live in Missouri and I'm seeking the best shop that can build and install a true four link suspension system for my truck - http://www.projectresponder.com
A) By 4 link I assume you want to do a coil over conversion, otherwise using a 4 link with leafs will only provide better traction but not a better ride.
The best kit for you truck would be from Rock Krawler

If you can do some welding it is a bold on kit.Do all 4x4 trucks have center differentials?A) The vehicles that are full-time 4wd, or all-time (or have the ability to be placed in an auto mode) do have an advanced center differential. They monitor wheel spin using sensors mounted at each wheel (or one per axle) and an excessive difference in speed between the front and rear axle will engage a clutch type differential to send more power to axle that has traction. Examples would be the Jeep Liberty or '99+ GM truck/suv with auto-trac.
Models that are part time only do not have a center differential. They are locking only.
Older vehicles like the full-time trucks and blazers that GM made back in the 70's and 80's acted just like an open differential on an axle. It would spin either the front or the rear tires (which ever was easier). What is the difference in 4x4 and z71 trucks???Q) I have a 1994 chevy 4x4 and my freind has a 1994 chevy z71.the only difference I can see is the colors and the fact that mine says 4x4 and his says z71 on the side.
is there any mechanical difference???
A) As you know, Z71 was a 4X4 suspension package upgrade.
If you park your truck next to your buddy's you'll notice his should sit about 2 inches higher.
Standard 4X4's like yours came with 245/75/16
Z71's came with 265/75/16 on either steel or aluminium.
Z71's had larger torsion bars up front for more lift.
Z71's came with Bilstein shocks on all 4 corners.
Z71's came with aluminium front skid plate, front differential skid plate.
Motor,Transmission,Transfer Case, Driveshafts and Axles are identical on both trucks.
Of course rear gearing was always an option. For 4x4 Trucks, What are the advantages/disadvantages of body and suspension lifts. Which is better and why?A) Different lifts for different uses. If you want to make your truck look like it could run over these little "rice rockets", go with the body lift. it will give your truck a look of being huge while at the same time saving your tire treadlife. if you want serious off-road performance, go with the suspension lift. this will seriously cut your ties' treadlife down while on the street, ut it will also give the extra clearance for going over obsticles at your favorite rock-crawling, or mudding hole. Can a 2x4 manual transmission work in a 4x4 truck?Q) I have a Chevy granny gear 3 speed manual transmission 4x4 truck and the transmission is bad. Can I put a 2x4 transmission in it and still have my 4x4?
A) On some trucks you can do this depending on which trans it is. You will have to remove the tailsection (this is where the transfer case will bolt up) If it does not have a removable tailsection (6-8 in. long) it cannot be done.Table './infoservice/infoservice' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
